Given the task of designing this side extension with a focus on creating an ideal space for families, our primary objective was to maximize the available area on the ground floor. To achieve this, we made the decision to remove the chimney breast and then carefully reconfigured the flow of the entire downstairs space. To create a bright and welcoming atmosphere, we prioritized maximizing natural light intake. As a result, our client chose to incorporate skylights and large sliding doors that open up to their garden, flooding the extension with abundant natural light.
