For this wraparound we added square footage to the side and rear, incorporating an existing old extension
The result has created a wonderful fun family space, filled with light thanks to a clevely placed skylight above the dining area.
Project details
Incorporate existing rear extension and extend to side & rear creating wraparound extension
Construct timber framed flat roof to new space, replacing the roof to the existing extension
Create light well to existing pitched roof to allow skylight above rear dining room
Create over-hanging canopy (approx. 30cm) to run flush with internal ceiling
Create internal exposed brick wall
Remove main back wall of outrigger to open plan the new space
Remove 1.5m of connecting kitchen side wall and 2.0m of connecting wall to snug
Extension size: 6.0m full depth x 7.5m full width (3.5m side return / 3.0m from original rear wall)
